The CTM bus to Chefchaouen
CTM coaches depart from the Tangier bus station (not the port) several times daily. The ride takes 3 to 4 hours with stops at Tetouan. Tickets are around 60–90 MAD per person. The bus drops you at Chefchaouen's bus station, about 1 km downhill from the medina — you will need a petit taxi up.
Grand taxis from Tangier to Chefchaouen
Shared grand taxis leave from near the Tangier bus station when full (six passengers). The fare per seat is around 60–80 MAD. The ride is faster than the bus (about 2.5 hours) but the cars are old Mercedes with six adults squeezed in. You can buy all six seats to go privately (≈ 400–500 MAD) but at that point a proper private transfer with AC and comfort is a better deal.
